We will visit Angel House, a children’s home and school near Tanzania and learn about the UMC work in this community. We’ll also go on a one-of-a-kind safari to see the most incredible Serengeti. Are you concerned, anxious, or frightened at the state of our country? Do you want to live in a safe and welcoming community, but feel like that is slipping away? The best antidote to fear and anxiety might just be action! Community Organizing 101 will provide you with a framework for identifying what you value in a community and connect you with people and a process to help you make that happen. This is about more than writing letters, and is not about marching with signs or protesting outside the Capitol (unless that’s your thing!). This is about finding your voice, reclaiming individual and collective power that is the cornerstone of our democracy, and connecting to others who value the same things you do. This kind of organizing is rooted in relationships and in our Methodist history, and is supported by our Social Principles. Join us for a home-cooked community dinner before class between 5:15-6:30PM. Cost is $8/person.

Our days of service will take place on Friday, April 24, at Midtown and Saturday, April 25, at our North Indy Campus and various locations throughout the city for I Love My City 2026. Our service projects are designed to show our love for our city and neighbors in need. Leading up to the event, we'll be collecting items to support vulnerable youth in our community. Plus, we're bringing back the blood drive. No matter your age or ability, there are opportunities to serve, collect, and give.
