On Friday evening, October 23, at 7 pm, Creation Care Ministry will host a showing of David Attenborough: A Life on this Planet. The event will be held in the chapel at Luke’s Lodge, which can seat up to 60 attendees. Light snacks will be provided and an opportunity for discussion will follow the film presentation.
Almost everyone is familiar with David Attenborough and his nature documentary films that he has produced as labors of love. 2026 marks his 100th birthday.
With his training as a naturalist and his long history of producing programs with a focus on nature, Attenborough brings a unique perspective in his documentary, A Life on This Planet, to the questions of what is happening to the natural world and why. His 70+ years of observation of the natural world, including its wildlife and natural habitats, give him the ability to document dramatic changes over that time that clearly demonstrate the dwindling number of wildlife due to shrinking wild areas, excessive human depredation, and the adverse effects of climate change. He closes by offering recommendations for a hopeful way forward to reverse the current negative trends.
