Mo started attending Midtown in early 2025 after hearing about St. Luke's through their residence at Trinity Haven. Nervous about being in a new environment, Mo connected with Beck, the Midtown worship leader, who learned about Mo's sensory needs and family background.
Within weeks, we created a Sensory Retreat—a special place where Mo could sit and feel safe when the service space became overwhelming. Now, Mo stands near the front using American Sign Language for every song, sharing that gift with everyone around them.
Through our Mosaic Ministry, we're supporting individuals and families impacted by disability, adapting programs for kids, youth, and adults. We're working to become one of the first United Methodist churches in Indiana to meet gold star-level ADA compliance. We've doubled the number of students at VBS, doubled Mosaic programs, tripled the number of buddies for Summer Programming, and now have 313 people involved in Mosaic Programming.
"St. Luke's is committed to ensuring all children, youth, adults, parents, and caretakers can feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow in their faith."
