This week we hosted VBS - “Let’s Start the Party.” Something pretty incredible happened Wednesday morning. Pastor Jevon challenged me to an impromptu dance off and if you think the Spirit isn’t present when two leaders dance their hearts out on stage and are joined by 250 kids and 120 volunteers…. think again. There is something holy, something special, something incredible that happens when God’s children of all ages join together, all together, no one left out, everyone’s invited.   

‘Everyone’s invited to the party.” This is the truth we want to instill in our kids this week of VBS as we continue to cultivate a faith in our children that will not need to be undone as they grow. But what I’ve continually been reminded of this week is this truth is for us, too. The ‘grown-ups’ might be the ones who might have some ‘undoing’ in our faith journeys, work that needs to be done. We’ve heard the stories of Jesus calling Matthew, Jesus meeting the woman at the well, the story of the lost son…stories that perhaps we’ve known our whole life, but stories that remind us that no matter where we are, what we’ve done, who we love, YOU are invited to the party.
